Hiking and the GR300 near the campsite
From the campsite, you can reach the Châtel-de-Neuvre bridge via the path running alongside the nature reserve, or explore the village and its listed 9th-century church.
On a clear day, this spot offers views across the plain and the meandering Allier river as far as the Forez and Morvan mountains.
The GR300 (Way of St James) passes nearby, as does the ‘From River to Vineyard’ trail starting from Châtel-de-Neuvre. For cyclists, the surrounding countryside is accessible after crossing the N2009, with numerous routes including a section of the Massif Central crossing for mountain bikers.
